I offer Clinical Supervision for master’s level counselors seeking licensure in Vermont.
Getting started as a new counselor can be both exciting and a bit scary. Moving from the classroom and theory to actual practice with clients in front of you is a huge shift - having someone to support, encourage, mentor, and help figure things out can be essential to providing quality care to clients.
I remember being a new clinician and trying to find my own style, feeling unsure and overwhelmed, struggling to find some kind of work-life balance, wondering if I’d ever feel confident in my abilities, and having SO. MUCH. TO. LEARN about both providing care and the ins and outs of admin and paperwork. What we do is important - we support people going through difficult things. We deserve support in that process too.
I’ve had great supervisors and some less-than-awesome supervisors. I pull from all of those experiences to try to offer support that’s compassionate, encouraging, practical and useful. I strive to offer what I didn’t get and really wished I had as well as any and all wisdom I gained from my mentors and supervisors. Ethics and integrity are of utmost importance and guide everything. Providing quality care is essential. Being trauma and social justice informed is vital.
The Basics
Vermont requires all unlicensed Masters Level practitioners seeking licensure to be rostered as non-licensed, non-certified psychotherapists and to receive 1 hour of supervision for every 30 client contact hours.
I provide clinical supervision either in-person or via video or a combination of both. I offer supervised billing to a limited number of supervisees.
Supervision fees:
$120/hr for individual clinical supervision
$60/hr for group supervision (2+ individuals)
Supervised billing has additional costs for EMR inclusion, credit card processing fees, and time spent on billing, dealing with insurance, managing payments, documentation review and constructive feedback, logistical questions and support, etc. (Cost ranges from $140 - $290, depending on amount of billing and time required)
If supervisees are becoming established in private practice or wish to do so in the future, I am happy to offer support and answer questions about this process as part of the supervision process. I will also do my best to help navigate any licensure application process questions as best I can.
